What the evidence needs to show

  • Emissions and immunity address different risks
  • Worst-case modes, ports and accessory configurations should be covered
  • Radio products need frequency, power, antenna, software and country-condition review

Build the evidence in this order

  1. Identify device type, ports and radio functions
  2. Determine applicable legislation and harmonised standards
  3. Plan worst-case test modes
  4. Compile reports, technical file, DoC and marking information

Common misunderstandings

  • Conducted/radiated emissions alone do not complete an EMC assessment
  • Module evidence may not automatically cover the host, antenna and final software configuration
