Where it applies

Applies to radio transmitters and interference-causing digital devices sold in Canada. FCC evidence may overlap technically, but US authorisation is not automatically Canadian authorisation.

What the evidence needs to show

  • Determine RSS, ICES and RF-exposure requirements
  • Certification normally uses the company number, product number and recognised-body process
  • Configure labels, e-labelling and manual statements correctly

Build the evidence in this order

  1. Confirm Canadian category and bands
  2. Compare FCC and ISED differences
  3. Complete additional testing and certification
  4. Review labels, manuals and market records

Common misunderstandings

  • An FCC ID does not replace an ISED certification number
  • Antenna, power or radio-software changes can trigger a permissive change
