What the evidence needs to show
- Confirm whether a QCO makes the product mandatory and which Indian Standard applies
- Schemes differ in laboratory, factory, applicant and marking rules
- Models, brands, factories and critical differences are controlled by licence scope
Build the evidence in this order
- Check mandatory lists, QCOs and product manuals
- Choose CRS, ISI/FMCS or another route
- Appoint AIR and complete testing/factory review
- Obtain registration/licence and maintain surveillance/renewal
Common misunderstandings
- “BIS certification” cannot be scoped without the scheme, Indian Standard and QCO
- Lists and online-filing rules change; current official information is essential
