Identify what the image represents
Record the order, style, sample identifier and relevant carton or batch. Include a context image before the close-up. Separate approved reference photos from photographs of inspected goods; reviewers need to know whether they are looking at a requirement, an observation or an illustrative example.
Control scale and colour interpretation
Use a suitable scale and keep the measurement point visible. Lighting, exposure and display settings can alter apparent colour, so a photograph should not automatically replace an agreed physical reference or colour measurement. Retain original images when annotations are added and avoid editing away a relevant defect.
Check consistency with the written result
Illustrative case: the text says a label is correct but the image shows another model. Confirm whether the wrong photograph was attached or the wrong product was packed. AI can flag a possible conflict, but a reviewer should inspect the source and request missing evidence before changing the conclusion.
